Jesse Signal Defends Calling Intactivist In Mixed-Raced Marriage "White Nationalist" Because "Plantation Owners Slept With Their Slaves"
Reporter defends hit piece with racist attack against activist's wife.
In a shocking episode, Blocked and Reported podcast host Jesse Signal defends calling intactivist leader Brendon Marotta a “white nationalist” despite being in a mixed race marriage with a brown woman, because “plantation owners slept with their slaves.”
After making a racially charged comment about Marotta’s marriage, podcast hosts Jesse Signal and Katie Herzog go on to speculate about whether or not KKK members can marry black women.
Signal claims they “did nothing wrong” by slandering the social justice activist with hearsay from the “little brother” of “friend-of-the-show” Newsweek editor Bataya Ungar-Sargon.
His co-host Katie Herzog suggests that Signal should have previously mentioned Marotta's mixed-race marriage to provide context in the earlier episode, but Signal justifies his actions by describing Marotta as a "weird guy."
The hosts also published audio in the podcast description verifying many of Marotta’s claims. Marotta has stated that he offered Blocked and Reported this audio before their previous episode attacking the intactivist movement, but was told not to bother sending it.
The episode was released on Juneteeth, a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.
